What is Homeopathy?

Using the vital-istic concept of science has existed for many years and states that all living things posses energy beyond their physical and chemical states. Homeopathy is a safe form of medicine which treats the individual, mentally and physically, relying on the body’s own powers of self-regulation and self healing

Homeopathy was introduced by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in 1780. He developed the concept of 'like cures like' first established by Hippocrates. According to this theory substances that are capable of provoking certain symptoms in an otherwise healthy body can also act curatively on similar symptoms in a sick person.

For example ‘belladonna’ would be used to treat scarlet fever since the symptoms of ‘belladonna’ poisoning closely resemble those of scarlet fever

Homeopathy has a revival in the past 50 years because:

  • Side effects of pharmaceutical medicine – homeopathy has no side effects

  • The individuality of the medicine as people are treated wholistically

  • The individuality of the medicine as people are treated wholistically

  • Non-addictive

  • Cost of the medicine is very small

  • Not tested on animals

  • Non-invasive

  • Stimulating the body’s own defence mechanism rather than suppressing it

Ferrum Phos - Useful in early inflammation. Slight redness and discomfort, developing quite slowly

Mez - Where eczema has been suppressed with creams. Scaly scabs. White pus and white chalk line crust. Itching from bathing in warm water

Petrol: Most burning, brown, yellow spots. Itching and burning sensations. Restless

Sepia: Location worse in bends of elbows and knees
